Spiritual Wellness: Forgiveness

Greetings in the name of Jesus our Lord and Saviour. Hope you are doing good today?

We are left with exactly 9 days excluding today. How excited are you for the new year cause wow I’m so excited like, so super excited. New year means new plans, new goals, new life, rebuilding and starting afresh. What we couldn’t do this year, we can do it next year. We all define the new year in different ways and we also celebrate the cross over in different ways.

You know before we go any further, we pray: Father Lord Jesus Christ on this day we call on you great name for there’s no God who is like you, Lord we ask today that lead us and and teach us more as Holy spirit you’re our teacher and our comforter. Lord Jesus Christ this morning we give you honour and glory and we say “Amen and Amen”.

New year means different things to us all but one thing we have in common in all our meanings is that we have goals set for the year and plans to ensure those goals are met on time. In setting the goals and making plans we don’t usually include the challenges and strategies to deal with the things we are going to face in the process of our goals. When you set your goals, you need to take time your time and plan in patience with no hurry, because when you are in a hurry, you’ll make mistakes in your planning. So take your time to plan, don’t rush it.

As you are planning for the new year consider the goals you had set this year and review the progress you made; see what went well and what didn’t go as planned. Also check the situations you went through and how you dealt with them and not forgetting the lessons you learnt from all those situations. By doing so you’ll be able to plan ahead with a clear mind and that will enable you to focus on the new plans made and it’ll give you strength as you’ll need it.

When you are doing your year review for this year consider the following points by asking yourself questions such as: • What were you goals?
• From all your goals which ones did you achieve?
• How did you achieve them?
• What gave you strength in order to push yourself in achieving them?
• Which goals didn’t you achieve?
• Why didn’t you achieve them?
• What distracted you along the process?
• What did you learn from achieved and failed goals?
• Is there something you can do better to achieve more next year than this year than this year?
• Do you think you are ready for the new year?

Those questions will help you asses yourself properly. You can add more questions which you think will do you good in assessing yourself, remember you are not comparing yourself to anyone you know, you are actually comparing yourself to the you of yesterday ensuring that you become a better/greater version of you for the new season that we going to. Self-comparison is actually beneficial to the one doing it because it helps align you with vision you have for your life and that propels you to set a mission to complete ensuring your vision comes to pass. If you’re able to set goals for yourself it means you actually have vision and you having a vision means there’s a mission in place for it, then therefore your goals need to align with what you’ve envisioned for yourself.

Isaiah 43:19. “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

In this coming season allow God to do something new in your life, let God surprise you with what you’ve never seen happening in your life, let God make a pathway for you in the dessert with streams of rivers. This coming season let God be your God.

2025 may have been a tough year but in all the storms that came into your life, you defined the terms of it according to your own set of rules, you didn’t allow the storms to storm you, look at you now standing strong and ready for the new year.

You know I pray that God gives you the strength you need for this new journey you’re about to embark on, may God grant you his favour in all and everything you making you great and a blessing unto others, for you are a city shinning on a hill top giving life to those who come to you, I pray that Lord Jesus Christ guide you in all and everything you do in life, may your goals come to pass so you can testify about God’s mighty strength.

I know you have lot planned for the day so shall we meet next week. Shalom!
